Abdominal ultrasound is a type of imaging test. It is used to examine abdominal organs such as the liver, gallbladder, spleen, pancreas, and kidneys. B. Blood vessels that connect to some of these organs, such as the inferior vena cava and the aorta, can also be examined with ultrasound.
